Introducing our newest MD

Dr. Kari Johnson

Hi, I'm Kari Johnson. I was born and raised here in Winnipeg. I got my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Manitoba and also completed medical school locally through the Max Rady College of Medicine. I did my family medicine training in Dauphin and then returned to Winnipeg for an additional year of training in emergency medicine. I currently work both as a family doctor and as an emergency doctor.

When I'm not working, I enjoy escaping into the woods, canoeing or hiking into remote sites to enjoy bonfires and the stars with my partner and dog.

As a member of the community, providing safe and evidence-based care to our 2SLGBTQ+ population has been a goal of mine throughout my training. I am excited to be part of Our Own Health Centre and hope to extend the care we provide to the entire rainbow community.

Become an OOHC Patient

Our Own Health Centre now welcomes 2SLGBTQ+ Patients

Members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community can become one of our Family Medicine patients.

Patients also can see us just for their Sexual Health Care while keeping their own Family Physician.

To make an appointment, call us at 204-691-1600.

Board Positions

From time to time, the board of OOHC seeks new members to enhance and diversify its membership.  However, at present, we are not seeking new members. When positions are available, BIPOC, Allies and 2SLGBTQ applicants who are team players with a strong desire to promote health in the 2SLGBTQ+ community are encouraged to apply. Skills in business, law, book-keeping/accounting, or previous experience with non-profit or community organizations would be an asset.

If you are interested please contact us at info@ourownhealth.ca.
